Despite what you think...Sexy never left

It was always here...on my cheeks. It goes by the name Turkish Red and it is the most fabo cream blush I've ever laid my hands on. NARS Cosmetics for when I want to splurge ( and lately it's like all the time)! Even my girl Janet Jackson swears by this color. Don't let the "bright" pigment fool you; it blends nicely to create a nice soft flush of color. Even against my skin dark skin it doesn't look to "egad!!!!!!". And it is definitely something I can wear all year round (all about application and execution people)!

Does the Holy Grail of mascara exsist
Will my never ending quest to find the perfect mascara ever come to an end? I purchased an old friend today L'Oreal Lash Architect along with YSL Infini Curl. Neither received outstanding reviews from the girls over at MakeupAlley. I haven't used this Lash Architect in years and when I did use it...I didn't really know much about mascara. I figured they are all the same...how wrong I was! Then I met Lancome's Extencils, Dior Ultimeyes and L'Oreal Telescopic. Still on the hunt though.....
**Update : neither did anything for me other than piss me off! The search continues!

The joys of depotting eyeshadows
Depotting eyeshadows is a wonderful (and sometimes painful thing). Depotting makes organizing your makeup oh so easy...If you are like me, you have a lot of junk in your trunk...errr train case. And as I constantly feel a need to quelch my insatiable need for makeup, I have to find creative ways to organize my crap.
1) Gift card tins from Michael's Craft Store
2) Business card size magnets from Michael's
3) Lables
4) A depotting tutorial: Depotting Eyeshadows
And voila...funky eyeshadow palettes!

My good makeup deed for the day..
While stocking up on crack....errr makeup tools at Walgreens, a lady approached me asking my advice on foundation. I was in the zone...and she sorta came out of nowhere asking me question about this and that. She said my face looked so put together and she was clueless on what she needed. 15 mins later we found a foundation that blended perfectly on her skin, concealer, finishing powder, foundation/concealer brush and complementing eye shadows. (Yes you can find great items at the drug store!) I gave her advice on application..showed her how to use her new tools and sent her on her way.
Is this what a proud parent would feel like?

I may be cheap, but I am not trashy!
My love affair with makeup isn't limited to a pricey product line, I am more than willing to be a drug store beauty. With the advent of store allowing you to return products, I can try our items and not worry about money being wasted. My drug store brand of choice is Milani. What can I say about Milani that hasn't been said on the many makeup discussion boards? Highly pigmented eye shadows that bear a striking resemblance to M.A.C., stunning lipsticks and glosses, blushes that mimic an Orgasmic flush...all under $5 bucks! Check out your local CVS/Walgreens or what have you...Milani proves you don't have to spend a lot to look fabulous!
I just started my Milani collection and these items are already must haves!!!:
Eye shadows - Flare, Java Bean, Almondine, Sun Goddess, Rich Chocolate, Illusion, Fire Fly and Bronze Dip (loose powder), Autumn Earth (eyeshadow quad)
Lip gloss - Glitzy Glamour Gloss in Charmer and Star Stunned
Lipstick - Velvet Lips Creamy Lipcolor in Decadent
All over color - Glimmer Stripes in Cocoa Glimmer

Looking for a goodtime tonight?

For many moons, I've searched high and low for the perfect red nail polish. Ehhh...correction. The perfect somewhat slutty, a lil bit prostitutey red nail polish. I'm all for red toes in the summer...mostly because I hate virginal french pedicures! Last year, my mani/pedi-curist got me hooked on the perfect summer color: OPI Big Apple Red. Not only does it pay homage to my hometown, but this juicy rich color is truly red! Not orange-red, pink-red or what-the-hell red, this is the real deal. It looks beautiful against my skin tone and would compliment many others. It is part of the OPI "Classic Colors" set so I'm hoping it will be sticking around till I'm too old to wear slutty nail polish (like that will ever happen).
